You Grew Anyway
Finding strength—and gratitude—in the hard parts.
Every workout ends.
Every training cycle ends.
Every good streak ends.
And every rough patch ends.
Midlife just makes you aware of these cycles in a way your younger self never noticed.
One month you feel strong and consistent.
The next month work explodes, a relationship shifts, your kid gets sick, your pet passes, your pain flares up... life just gets heavy. I’ve had both this year—times where everything clicked and times where nothing did.
But that’s where the growth sneaks in. Every chapter leaves something behind: a habit, a lesson, a scar, a little more capacity for whatever comes next. Even the chapters that ended harder than you wanted.
When a workout ends, you carry capability. When a setback ends, you carry resilience. When a good season ends, you carry appreciation. Some phases this year passed quietly, others loudly, but all of them shifted me in some way. You’ve been shifted too, probably more than you realize.
Thanksgiving is a good time to sit with that. To notice what you learned, what you survived, and what you’re better at navigating now.
Some things lifted you — learn from them, grow from them, be grateful for them. Some things knocked you flat and made you rebuild — learn from those too, grow from them, be grateful for them.
That’s what midlife strength actually is—not perfection or endless momentum, but the capacity to keep adapting as things begin and end.
And there’s something to be grateful for in that, too.
Rest a little this week. Let the year settle. See what it left you with.
Thanks for reading,
-Marek
P.S. If you’re feeling the ups and downs of this year in your body, I’m running a 12-day reset starting the 1st (Monday) to give you some breathing room heading into December.
The 12-Day Midlife Energy Reset (Dec 1–12)
A simple, low-pressure reset for people who feel stretched thin this time of year.
12 days.
One small action per day.
Built for real life, not perfect conditions.
You’ll get one prompt from me each day — a small, doable action that takes 10 minutes or less and helps steady your energy.
This isn’t a “push harder” challenge.
Expect things like:
a 10-minute strength walk
a quick mobility drill
a short morning stretch
an evening decompression technique
No rules. No pressure. No finish line.
Just one daily touchpoint that helps you stay connected to yourself instead of getting swallowed by December.
You’ll also get access to Midlife Movement Match — a custom GPT that uses three simple questions to match you with the right movement for your energy that day. No guessing. No burnout. Just the right choice in under 30 seconds.
The reset is normally $25, but it’s $19 for BFCM. If it feels right, join in.
Sign-up closes Friday at 11:59 PM PT.
