"Hero Me"
The picture of you that wants to be seen, loved, respected, and valued
On Monday night, I was eating what was probably the worst salad of my life at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco. At the same time, I was writing a list of 100 words to describe myself that eventually turned into Tuesday morning’s post How to Figure Out Who You Are.
Despite the unfortunate dining experience (which my stomach punished me for later), writing my list came easily. Discovering how I actually see myself was surprisingly cathartic. Then organizing the words into positives and negatives gave me a fairly complete picture of how I want to see myself.
Here are my stats:
42% “foundational positives”
58% “foundational negatives” (aka sh*t pile)
Most people will have a similar ratio since we tend to be our own worst critics. However, it was empowering to see the positive words in a single list and it gave me a very accurate picture of what I like to call “Hero Me.”
